Profile Advocates ACC Claims

Once you have ACC cover for your injury you are supposed to be informed by ACC about your entitlements. ACC staff have personally informed me that they don’t always tell you about your entitlements, which in turn is the main reason why most injured claimants never get access to full and fair entitlements and rehabilitation. The legislations is very clear about ACCs obligation to inform you about your entitlements.

I would best describe ACC’s approach to failing to inform claimants about their entitlements as tactical. Though you may eventually be told abut some of your entitlements, it is very unlikely you will be be told about most, or all of them. This approach to entitlements by ACC has been identified by myself as the main causation of clients injuries not recovering or rehabilitating and often worsening in turn the claimants health – physical and mental.

Sometimes this causes new injuries, including mental injuries, and in many circumstances, financial hardship, depression, and occasionally suicidal thoughts.
