Medical misadventure – Treatment injury
ACC cover medical misadventure. They now call this “treatment injury”. Generally speaking this means a new or additional injury received as a result of a failure or accidental outcome from any medical treatment, this includes surgery. If any registered medical practitioner, including dentists, physiotherapists, doctors, nurses, or surgeons, cause a secondary injury to you, or worsen a previous injury, contact me immediately.
Please note, failed medical treatment can often cause mental injuries, depression and suicidal thoughts. These injuries are covered by the ACC act.
